All members are volunteers and give generously of their time and talents for which we are extremely grateful.
We receive no regular government funding, we rely on fundraising and the generous donations that we receive from sports and service clubs, individuals within our community and those who support us through bequests.
We have a dedicated Management Committee who meet monthly to do the day to day running of our organisation and to meet the needs/requests we receive. These positions are elected annually.
Our Auxiliary meets on the second Tuesday of each month at Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club at 10:15am. Planning of events, fundraising and social events are organised at this meeting. All financial members and those interested in joining us are encouraged to attend this meeting. All welcome to stay afterwards and join us for coffee or lunch.
Our equipment is stored in Rodmay St, Tuncurry and our Equipment Officer Kevin Stokes, maintains, cleans, picks up and delivers equipment as required. The Palliative Care nurses and Occupational Therapists have access to the equipment when needed. All equipment is loaned free of charge.
The following poster presented at the International Palliative Care Conference at Leura in 2020 gives a summarised account of what we, as an organisation, have been able to achieve over the first thirty years of serving our community.
